We study language and literacy development in young children who are culturally and linguistically diverse.

Our research aims to increase our understanding of factors that impact the development of language, literacy and overall school readiness abilities in preschool children learning two languages in the context of linguistic, social, and economical diversity. This knowledge will provide the foundation for realizing our second research aim, that of developing and evaluating evidence-based assessment, treatment and instructional approaches that support school readiness for culturally and linguistically diverse preschoolers at risk for language, literacy and academic disparities.
